Activities:

-         Published 36 scientific articles and co-authored 11 books.

-         Serves as editor in two professional journals.

-         Teaches courses at the graduate and undergraduate level at the Information Science (KAU) department.

-         Teaching and research interests focus on the applications of technology on library technical and public services.

-         Works as a consultant in the area of library , information centers' development.

-         Worked as a local consultant with American consultants to build the library system at Dar Alhekmah college in Jeddah.

-         Led a group of two Saudis to build the library system at Effat college in Jeddah ( We were responsible for all aspects from hiring librarians and to setting up the library automated system , to building the collection and choosing the library furniture..

-         Build the information center at Alwatan Newspaper.

-         Works with Almadina Press & publishing as a consultant to manage their information center.

-         Considered Now as the most experienced expert among Saudis in the area of journalism information services.

-         Served in 5 academic and professional committees.

-         Member in 3 professional associations.

-         Currently is a member of the Scientific committees in two conferences.

-         Supervised 8 Master Degree research projects, and 4 PhD students.

-         Worked as volunteer in different student, community, and professional organizations.

-         Teaches databases and internet search strategies  in workshops directed towards students, faculty members, and librarians.
